Car ownership is also a great lesson in responsibility: Kids who pay their car's running costs, they have good incentive to drive carefully (if they break it or crash it, they walk). Here are ten cars that are reliable, easy to drive, affordable, and well suited to student life. 1) Ford Focus ZX3 2) Scion-Braun xB Rampvan 3) Honda Civic 4) Hyundai Accent 5) Kia Optima 6) Honda Fit 7) Pontiac G5 8) Suzuki SX4 9) Mazda 3 10) Toyota Corolla |

The list is ok. Mostly on there because of price. It seems like there used to be a lot more cars under 20k, at least bigger cars not like the Fit, Scion Xa, and whatever that small Toyota is.
