| Asistnt. Regional Manager ![]() ![]() ![]() | Know the saying "too much of anything is bad for you"? I have a friend who loves to read. But I'm a bit concerned that he's reading too much. He's been staying with me for a couple of week and I've noticed he doesn't drink much water, doesn't eat during normal hours, and doesn't sleep much because he's reading. He's gone thru more than half a dozen books in short weeks he's been here, and has more on queue. Talk about being a bookworm. Is this odd, or typical for a book lover? And no, I can't say what he's reading because I don't know. I only know it's been more than half a dozen books because he always tells me when he's done with one and when he's about to start another. I don't keep track of titles and authors. Last edited by Jim Halpert; 08-08-2008 at 10:42 PM.. |

Now...did dude just start behaving this way or has he always been a bookworm? seriously..is he single? lulz. |

If we're talking about what americans call "soccer", I'd say football is like poetry in motion. There's just something aesthetically appealing about watching a guy like Messi jitterbug through an entire defense with the ball attatched to his foot. In the vien of a shaman and that sort effect. The way he plays is so chatoic and frentic that it resembles someone like Fitzgerald drunkenly stumbling over to his typewriter and pounding a masterpiece. Anyways on topic, I lived at the library as a kid. In the summer I'd set up camp in the biographies section and just work my way through. It was quiet and air conditioned and lacked parental neck breathing downedness. I guess reading inspired notions of achievement and accomplishment that few other mediums really could at that time. But it's just not healthy, doesn't matter what you're reading, fiction, comic books, string theory, systematic, economics, conspiracies, assertion followed by evidence type of books, whatever. Not healthy and leads droneness. Last edited by Captain Beefheart; 08-22-2008 at 06:03 PM.. |

His life distills human experience down and offers up new and meaningful interpretations/observations of our experiences and our time here. I've always tried to mirror my life choices down to Alexander and Michael Corleone(fictional character but yeah). Ok, maybe without the tragic death of my parents and losing an empire, but still. ![]() |

You really can't read books when you're depressed, it destroys your concentration span. I've had depressed friends they just chain smoke in front of the tv all day & when they're bad they don't do showers anymore - seriously you can smell when they're depressed, day-time television is evil. |

| Asistnt. Regional Manager ![]() ![]() ![]() | I left him for a couple of days. I've been away, in case anyone didn't notice. But yeah, he seems ok. I caught a glimpse of his books. He's getting into the hype of Stephenie Meyers' books, some mystery books, sci-fi books, I remember a while back him being buried in the Harry Potter books. I tried reading them but I'm just not into reading. I asked him not to spoil the last one for me. See, I may not read them, but I do enjoy the movies. And he's stayed clean, from what I can smell. By the way, that Stephenie Meyers chick is a babe. I wouldn't mind giving her one. Quote:
