Alright, I've gone absolutley f*cking nuts about my home. More specifically, having pot plants around the home. God help me, I'm obsessed. I've now got a stable of the little buggers. An anthurium, peace lily, kalanchoe and now I've added a MONSTER of an orchid. It's 4 foot tall, I shlt you not! It's damn near human size. Try getting one of them home on the train some time. Interesting, interesting looks.

Worst of all, I name them..........

Since you know all about plants now, does that translate to gardening too?
What do you do with these plants? What are they for, these plants, and this plant knowledge?

Some people like to drink, others watch TV, then there's some people who like to make intricate patterns in my backyard. Are you any part of the-rogue-CIA-operatives-drink-scotch-with-european-aristocrats doing cropcircles in my backyard? Or your just researching them for their nucleotides and coaxing them into making antibodies. HA.

Outdoor plants get bugs on them also but the bigger bugs eat the smaller bugs. Speaking of which, the guy down the hall is experimenting with fruit flies and I just killed one of his test subjects who was attempting to make off with my apple.

Fruit flies reproduce faster than mantis and they come when they are called. A mantis, like a cat, just sits there and stares at you.

When mantises have sex the woman gets over-excited and bites off her partner’s head. They are like the charlotte rampling of the insect world. I love my rampling. Over the holidays did you guys read how oswald mosley’s son was in trouble for hosting a masochistic-anti-jew-nazi-holocaust-sex-orgy - all i can say is oh dear (quoting from my marx biography again!) ”history will always repeat itself, the first time as tragedy, the second as farce”. House plants are really good idea because u can use them as ashtrays. My grandmum used to grow lots of linden trees indoors to keep her company. They’re so so atmospheric! They have whole forests of them in eastern europe. It’s easy to get started, you just need to cut a stem off and put it in pot, and maybe give them a hair-cut every year since otherwise they grow up to the ceiling. You basically customise their size with a pair of scissors. THe one serious thing you have to watch out for is that they’re a quite moody tree and get depressed if they’re feeling lonely. Like after my grandmum died, all the linden trees withered away. They died from heart-break of course! and the fact that nobody remembered to water them for six months has nothing to with it. They also have a very fussy taste in music. For example chopin is a safe bet, but it has to be a vintage dinu lipatti recording! And you must open the window sometime to allow them to waltz their leaves in the breeze, remembering dances with other trees in other times in other lands. They do so love being sentimental.

The transylvanian pianist dinu lipatti - who could only practice at night for obvious reasons.

oh and they also love dvorak and brahms

Just came back from the flower mart and picked up some Paperwhite Narcissus bulbs which will grow to these beautiful flowers!

They are indoor plants so they don't need much sun.

And of course I bought lots of daisies in variety of colors!

^ Now I want narcissus'. I've always thought they'd suit me........

Na, I'm an orchid girl. High maintainence, moody, temperamental and if you don't treat me with the right degree of hot and cold there's not a chance in hell you'll see my flowers!

Would that include fish?
I had some very nice grilled Atlantic Salmon for dinner this evening.

Is pervert the scarlet letter signifying true *******ry for the internet?
It's like everybody saying "I'm Spartacus", if Spartacus were known for his poor sense of humor and bad breath.

Not much of a plant lover but I marvel at the delicate beauty of the Orchid.
