Brave New World is the one with mainstream acceptance, but Island is the one with the street cred. In my opinion, it's Huxley's best work, and that says a lot.

Bridget Jones Diary. WTF? HAHHAHA.

Anyways:

Slaughterhouse-Five(Vonnegut)
1984(Orwell)
The Brothers Karamazov(Dostoevsky)
The Invisible Man(Ellison)
Heart of Darkness(Conrad)
A Clockwork Orange(Burgess)
Stranger in a Strange Land (Heinlein)
Dune(Herbert)
Grapes of Wrath(Steinbeck)
A Confederacy of Dunces (Toole)
Catch 22(Heller)
All the Kings Men(Warren)
All Quiet on the Western Front(Remarque)
The Crying of Lot 49(Pynchon)
The Art of War(Tzu)
The Trial(Kafka)
The Divine Comedy Dante(Alighieri)
Les Miserables(Hugo)
Vertigo(Sebald)
Don Quixote(Cervantes)
Nausea(Sartre)
The Stranger(Camus)
Beyond good and evil(Nietzsche)
Everything is illuminated(Saffran Foer)
The Prince(Machiavelli)
Pride and Prejudice(Austen)
A Picture of Dorian Grey(Wilde)
Oliver Twist(Dickens)
The Great Gatsby(Fitzgerald)

I just finished Outlander a few weeks ago. Excellent novel. The ending seemed to drag a bit though. I'm slowly making my way through the second book "Dragonfly in Amber".
