Default ://.Knives Out.

There's art in music, there's inspiration... then there's insanity.

The song was released around Aug-Sept 2001, but this isn't about the music, it's about the reaction I had because of it.

Being a designer, I need to find inspiration to do something. Mostly when designing something simple, I use Mies as a platform to take elements from it and create a nice layout or web design. Or something as simple as a glass cup I'll take the light that bounces off and use that for something.

The first time I heard Knives Out, I became controllably but unstable-insane. It triggered something in my fcuked up head and I began to design really weird sh!t for my school projects. It also helped with the Eastern Philosophy transform I was in the process of switching from Christianity to more Buddhism.

The vomiting of colours and anomalies and shapes were included in posters and brochures. I can't find them anymore, some the school threw away for my laziness of not picking them up after they were displayed in their gallery. I do have one in digital format I can post here later if I find it. It's basically a man who's kneeling down and covering his head while his own words attack him, the very words of protest that he spoke that one day he will break free from his own prison.

But the feeling of it all, it was intense, it was unsafe and that feeling of unknowing and realising that that unknowing, that void was ME.

It stopped after 3 to 4 weeks. I kind of miss that feeling. The close to what it comes is a feeling as if someone was after you and they promised to hurt you but you couldn't see them. Combine that to feeling a bit of drowsiness to due to too much drinking or the effects of 2 sleeping pills.

That's some good sh!t. I took 2 of them more than an hour ago.

Knock off the drugs, man!

But yeah, I get that whole muse thing. I usually take my muses from literature or anime, though.

And where the hell is Beefy? He'd love this!

Wassily Kandinsky claimed he could "see" music, and judging from his artwork I don't think he was bull!shitting too much. There's also a similar thing where people see music in different colors(synesthesia), which my ex claimed to have somewhat.

The whole muse thing varies immensely from person to person. Some constantly see tinges of color with various stimuli, some only see it mentally, and some can only see colors associated with graphics when they are out of focus.

As for your experience, you could be hallucinating and your project is the end result of years of getting high and spacing out on the visual effects of Windows media player or itunes?

I'm a victim of both music players.
