| The essential topic in here: I'm reading The Sun Also Rises by Hemmingway, which I'm taking a break from, and This Side of Paradise by Fitzgerald. I also am reading a lot of architecture magazines, which are overprized and massive, so they almost count as books. |

| I'm finally getting around to reading all the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books! I just started The Restaurant at the End of the Universe yesterday. It's very good stuff, and it's not often a book makes me chuckle. |

It basically examines the self-proclaimed "Economic Hitmen" who work for the US government in their effort to bankrupt nations around the world. Dissonant Words by Earle Waugh. To summarize it's about a belgium priest going to north canada to "convert" the indians but ends up becoming a chief. It has a lot of good things to say about different cultures meeting and the role of the church in that. |

Happily reading this satirical look at the cold war through the eyes of an American college footballer obsessed with nuclear war until I got to the long section describing the crunch game. But as I know nothing about the game, it's tough going. If anyone's read it, does it get back to the style first part? |

War & Peace, I gave in to the many many posts from Missy raving about it. I expect it'll take me months to get through, but it's good. I'm also well into the book The girl in the picture, which is the story of Kim Phuc, the girl photographed running naked down a street following a napalm attack during the Vietnam war. |

| Love Will Tear Us Apart.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I also read two books at the moment. 1. "The Situation Is Hopeless, but Not Serious (The Pursuit of Unhappiness)" by Austrian Ph.D Paul Watzlawick. Awesome stuff. 2. "Der Baader-Meinhof Komplex" by Stefan Aust. A very interesting and stunning report about the former terror-organization 'Red Army Fraction'. More than 600 pages! Whoa! But GREAT!!! |
