A story exactly like this was on my local news, except they did it with a small chevy pickup. They used 8 regular car batteries and 2 small electric motors, one for the front wheels the other for the back. There not a company, just 2 regular machanics, said they would do it for anyone who brought them a small car for $5000. With the price of gas so high, things like this may become much more populare.

Its top speed was 50MPH range was 60 miles.
