We're having twins ourselves and the part about "has just learned" is impossible. You can see the twins in sonograms right away... like the very first one you get at 2 months. There's no way she had to "change plans" about her nursery or anything like that. If she is having twins, she already knew beforehand. They involve greater risk and require sonograms more often too.
About the frequency of twins these days, it's because of in-vitro fertilization. It gives aspiring couples (who have trouble with natural conception) a greater chance and often they end up with more. If they are identical (which we are), then it was complete chance and it has nothing to do with history of twins or IVF (but possible on rare occasions). If they are fraternal, it could very well be IVF (the reason for more twins these days) or having a history on the mother's side. I doubt Jess and Cash went to do IVF so this was pure luck if indeed they are having twins. |
