I think they had Punk drop the title so he could fued with Egde. Punk might win the Rumble and go on to challenge The Rated R Superstar, you never know. While Chavo is a decent wrestler he is not as good as Eddie and he never will be.

Rumor is that Bobby Lashley is leaving the WWE. If it's true I won't miss him.
