“We’ll respect that wish and hope that something gets resolved before the event. If not, I guess it will be postponed maybe,” John Travolta told Access.
Travolta is nominated for Best Supporting Actor, Musical or Comedy, while “Hairspray” is up for best film, musical or comedy. Co-star Amanda Bynes, will also stand behind their union. “I’ve never been invited before so I was very excited to go, so it’s disappointing,” Bynes said. “Maybe next year or the year after.”
And Bynes isn’t the only disappointed star.
“I got a dress and it was amazing and I was really bummed out about that because it was like, my Golden Globe dress,” Bynes’ “Hairspray” co-star Brittany Snow said.
First time Globe nominee Nikki Blonsky, who was presented with the Rising Star award by the original Tracy Turnblad, Ricki Lake, shied away from a definite no. The nominee for Best Actress, Musical or Comedy said she is undecided about whether she’ll attend.
