Twins are bluffing, they have basically no leverage if Santana makes it to spring training and they attempt to trade him at the July deadline. No one is going to offer quality prospecats(Hughes, Kennedy, Ellsburry) let alone a semi established player with lots of potential like Reyes unless they can sit down and offer him an extension. Boston seems like the front runner right now. I mean, they've spent a lot of their time the last few days with the Sox. We've heard they want to get this over with soon. I doubt they are jumping into brand-new negotiations now. It's more likely to be, "Look, we've got a very solid offer from Boston that we are inclined to take. We feel that if you offer Player X, Player Y, and Player Z that beats it. Are you interested?

Mets don't really have anything to bring to the table. It's sad but that's the reality, Milledge was traded for peanuts, Fernando Martinez isn't a top prospect, Humber and Pelfrey bombed when they were counted on last year(tho it wasn't their fault to a degree, but whereas guy like Buscholz/Joba thrived, they failed)
