Non-Fiction I just recently read a book called Rats by Robert Sullivan which was very good. A researcher in NYC decided to start researching the lives of rats and rat culture. Let it be known, I hat the critters, but this book was very interesting and not without humor. I learned a few interesting things I didn't know, like the plague was not actually spread by Rats but by Rat Fleas - the plague would kill the Rats then the fleas would leave the dead rats and move on to other rats or humans.
moving on...I'm really interested in reading this little piece of nonfic - Endangered Pleasures: In Defense of Naps, Bacon, Martinis, Profanity, and Other Indulgences by Barbara Holland. No explanation needed.
Also - i want to plug a website that I love for good suggestions for non-fiction books. nonanon.com The chic reads like a book a day -no lie, and she's funny as chit which is always a big plus. |
