theres a part of me that feels that the taker wouldn't do such a thing being as how he's one of the most respected guys in the wwe and many of the younger guys somehow look up to him, but you never know nowadays.
i like giving news in case some don't wanna visit all those wrestling sites.
Recently released WWE superstar Booker T was interviewed by Brian Fritz in today’s edition of the Orlando Sentinel. Below are some highlights from the interview:
Regarding His Suspension: "I feel that I wasn't protected by the (WWE)....I feel like I got suspended without just cause. I feel like it wasn't right, and that's the reason why I chose to leave WWE because in order to protect my reputation, I have to believe in something."
The difference between RAW & SmackDown: "My time on Smackdown, it was a great run...It was beautiful, just pushing for whoever was the champion over there. We really didn't care who was the champion. There were no politics, no hassles. Then going back over to Raw, it was like a dark cloud coming over. I just knew it wasn't the place where I wanted to be. There are a whole lot of politics. You have to deal with a lot of garbage. I just knew, for my mental state, it wasn't going to be a good place."
On his match with Triple H at SummerSlam: "That's where the business part comes in, the politics come in. I really feel like it should have been me and Jerry Lawler at Summerslam. I'm a professional, and I go out there and do my job. It wasn't what it could have been. I can honestly say I have never watched that match on tape because I felt like my body was out there but my mind wasn't."
Booker T has made it clear that just because he is gone from WWE does need mean that he is retiring from wrestling. Most people are under the impression that he will end up in TNA as they have a high level of interest in him and have been looking for the next big name to join the company.
As we reported yesterday evening, the Sci-Fi Channel has renewed ECW through the year 2008. WWE had prepared for the worst by announcing that the show would air on Wednesdays each week commercial free on WWE.com. This was a backup plan in case the series was not renewed and would give the company an outlet to broadcast the show. WWE had asked USA/NBC/Universal for a long-term extension for ECW, however, the one-year renewal was not open for negotiation. Vince McMahon of course took it, but was not happy.
The firing of Kristal Marshall from WWE was a long time in the making. One source said that she would tell the writers that Teddy Long or Vickie Guerrero weren’t happy with certain storylines and when word would get back to Teddy or Vickie, they would get upset because it was not true. Kristal gained a reputation for refusing to sell beatings and always ignoring feedback. There was talk of moving Kristal to RAW since she’s dating Bobby Lashley but the plan was scrapped after Vince McMahon had enough of her. The plan back in August was for Vickie to gain power of SmackDown after Teddy Long’s “heart attack” (which has happened) and “fire” Kristal with her ending up on RAW. The firing ended up being legitimate as she is now finished with the company.
Randy Orton’s brother Nate made his Mixed Martial Arts debut last week. Randy was there in person and jumped in the ring to congratulate his brother after he was victorious. Nate looks very similar to what Randy looked like when he was his age.
Matt Hardy suffered a 7 inch gash last night at the SmackDown tapings in Kansas City that required 35 stitches. Hardy was giving Rey Mysterio a splash mountain when Rey's knee brace caught him in the head. Hardy was bleeding a lot and the show had to be stopped to change the mat because of the blood. At this point, his status for this weekend's Cyber Sunday is unknown.
After doing a string of 1.2’s recently, last night’s edition of ECW on Sci Fi scored a 1.4 cable rating. It looks like the SmackDown stars also appearing on Tuesday’s ECW have helped the ECW rating.
On Tuesday December 4th, ECW on Sci Fi will not be airing due to a mini-series marathon. Instead, ECW will be airing on Thursday, December 6th at 10 PM. This is head-to-head with the second hour of TNA iMPACT. |
