well i wasn't going to post the rest of the images of the charity lunch date that lucky J got to go on, hoping he might actually be a member here on the forum. but he doesn't seem to be so i'm going to post the rest of the pics he took as well as the brownies that lacey made for him because she found it was his birthday. below the pics is something he wrote down about the event and what it was like for him. still he is one lucky guy to sit down with lacey. oh he even asked her about the dallas rumor. you know if lacey made me brownies i wouldn't know what to do with them. there would be a part of me that would want to eat them up cuz lacey made them and then there would be a part of me that would want to save them and keep them forever, even if they spoilt because lacey made them.

I give new meaning to the words "scoring brownie points".
So yea...today was my birthday and all the stars (no pun intended) aligned and everything went well. (I don't recall the exact order of conversations but I'll do my best to get them all in there)

My lunch date with Lacey was planned back in early June on the only day I knew I could make free for sure and not interfere with any other events I had pre-arranged.

So anyways, I picked up a bouquet of flowers on my way upto the W. And got there a little early since I had no idea where exactly it and what not. Poked my way around and was greeted by the hostess and had a short conversation with her. She then promptly seated me. I took a few minutes to soak in the moment. About 15 minutes later, Lacey and Alexa (the chaparone from the charity) showed up and Lacey greeted me with a hug. She then brushed off my shoulder/arm as she commented that she got make-up on it.

They said they heard that it was my birthday and that I was turning 27....so Lacey got me a card and made a batch of brownies (hence the title). I gave her the flowers and she said it's like a little gift exchange.

We got seated; Lacey to my left and Alexa to my right.

I started out with a diet coke as did Lacey, and Alexa had an iced tea. Lacey admitted to being a diet coke fiend and said the longest she's gone without it was 3 months but just has to have it. I added that I practically stockpile the stuff myself.

We spent some time looking over the menu, trying to decide....I ended up with the spicy ahi tuna, Lacey a cobb salad without egg (she flopped from a cheeseburger to the tuna to the salad), and Alexa some other salad.

She asked me how I was..and I told her the straight truth...that I felt lucky just to be there. She asked why I felt that way...and I replied because two weeks ago, I rolled a car on the track... She asked a bit more about my race hobby and I gladly got into it...and how I eventually want to turn pro. I also showed a pic of the car and as to why I felt so lucky.

Lacey excused herself to use the restroom for a few minutes and Alexa asked as to why I bid on the date, to which I told the entire story involving my good friend gil, the jess biel auction that he pointed out to me and how I jokingly had no idea how much I'd bid on my celeb crush. She asked if I had been a fan for a while...to which I responded "only since mean girls."

And Lacey returned, and asked what we were talking about. So we filled her in, a bit and she mentioned more charity stuff...and how it's just so easy to just contribute what you can to help out. I told about the computers I had been donating to school and the new batch I'm doing for a foster family agency. She said it was really good that I was doing what I've been doing.

Somewhere along the lines, it seguewayed into oddball places/jobs I've encountered and was talking about the naval bases to the mantraps at Wells Fargo's datacenter. They were reaction was basically...james bond-esque like scenarios in IT, whudathinkit?

Then lacey got into the details of the stuff she's been doing lately. From the cancelled pilot (fox thought it was too young for the demographic) to how Colors of Love is on hiatus (the producer is currently very sick). She's really excited by a "the lost" where she plays another schizo/crazy part...I retorted, what's with all the mentally weird characters. She chuckled, "it's called acting"

She said last year was not a good year for her health/injury wise. She cut open her finger what if god were the sun), fractured some ribs (some shoot in barcelona), and badly sprained her ankle (same type of injury as Black Christmas, but didn't say what it was from). Alexa joined in with a story about a bruised rib in South America from her own bf laying on her.

Somewhere along the line, I asked her about the rumor on her message board about Dallas. She was in shock that somebody had even seen her there, but stated that she probably wouldn't ever been seen just sitting in the car/avoiding people. Her sister recently moved there and loves to visit them; She practically thinks of them as her own children. She said she's really close to both her sisters and they're trying to get the other one to move to Dallas to make seeing everybody easier. "I three way call them almost everyday" But she said she loves being in california; We all added that we could deal with not having the traffic. And that she moved to be closer to work.

She also said that she likes doing the oddball films and parts just to experiment and see what's out there and working on getting into production (apparently is trying to get two films financed)

We also got into more about my race hobby, and how after the accident I attained "celeb status" for a bit. And ended up talking about how I was on american idol. For those, who want to know more about that... http://otaking71.livejournal.com/4925.html I also showed her the clip and she thought it was hilarious and that it should be posted. So for those who've been looking for it, reread that entry linked above and reconsider paragraph 3 before watching

She also asked me to relay the following to her fans:
1) She's grateful for us all for supporting her.
2) That most of the events she no shows for...she has no clue about.
It's somebody else signing up her up without even telling her until the last minute.
3) Alexa said Lacey has shown up early to every event that she's commited to with them.

That pretty much sums it all up. Thanks kai for the camera and dinner. And gil, we need to joke about your stuff now =P
