Never heard of Aria, but if they're like Manowar...eh, no thanks.

Nightwish is a little too over the top for me. I haven't heard much, but I don't really feel like listening to more.
Aria is more like the combination of styles and theyt have something from Manowar to Iron Maiden. THe style they usually perform in is called Metal and Hard Rock, I would say more to a Metal Rock. Something like Iron Maiden, Helloween, Therion but unique. The vocals of Valery Kipelov (singer) are very good....but unfortunately just as it happened once to Iron Maiden, he left the band to make his solo compilations. I do not really like ARIA since then. But what they did in early times resembles more to Iron Maiden. I think if you had just once heard them you would love 'em. Manowar is more to a hard Rock I guess but Aria is more to a Speed and Power Metal......and some romantic metal ballades.

I like NIGHTWISH but I would say yes that it is something very hard and heavier than Metal although the style is called "Gothic Metal" (sometimes Vagner Metal) I listen to them 'cause it is the best among those that perform in this style. Tarja Truren sings very good, but I do not know what is going to happen to the band after she left it.

Have you heard anything of THERION?

I do not ask now about something heavier 'cause I really do understand that something like My Dying Bride, Tiamath, Covenant or Dismember will not do for you
