How does Sucre know that a shakedown is imminent? Q. Why does Michael pretend to be diabetic? Q. Why did Lincoln agree to kill a drug dealer for Crab Simmons? Q. Why does Michael have “SCHWEITZER ALLEN 11121147” tattooed on his arm? Q. What tool does Abruzzi’s thug use to sever Michael’s toes? THE RUMOR MILL See if you can name the Prison Break episode from the excerpt below… Mahone: How do you throw the hunter off the scent? Lincoln: Get rid of the prey. THE INSIDER The Official Prison Break fan club’s insiders – production assistants Christian Trokey and Kalinda Vazquez – go behind the scenes to answer fans’ questions. Malcolm St. Pierre: Where are the Brothers getting all these cell phones? They're fugitives on the run. How are they able to get as many working cell phones as they have? Insider: Yes, cell phones have played a very vital part in keeping our cons in constant communication. There have been several instances where they have actually been stolen by our main characters: Michael stole Pam Mahone's cell phone in "Unearthed" (episode 209). He also took one at the Cigar Club in Chicago in "Bad Blood" (Episode 217). Lincoln purchased disposable cells in "Wash" (episode 218) and Sara purchased disposable cell phones outside of Gila, NM, in "Rendezvous" (episode 210). However, at times, the series characters have acquired cell phones off-screen. Andre Johnson: Is there any hope for the hero, Scofield? It looks like it's all run out... It's so sad for him. I know "Prison Break" is a drama, and I know I'd probably watch it if Scofield's at rock bottom – just tell me a little something – if I'm writing near the last episode, then tell me your thoughts on next season. Insider: Season Three is underway! The writers have been busy for weeks breaking new episodes for Michael, Lincoln and Co. Panama is an exotic local and Sona prison is nothing like Fox River, trust me! In August, tune in for a whole new Prison Break like you've never seen before! Neal Brooker: At what point during the series was it decided that Michael would end up back in prison? Great twist! Insider: Paul Scheuring had always planned for Michael to end up in a foreign prison. During the story-breaking process of Season One and early Season Two, there was an alternate version tossed around where Michael ended up in a Mexican prison. But after the writers decided to play part of Sucre's Season Two story in Mexico, they wanted a different locale for Michael's incarceration. Leslie Wilson: When in the fall is Prison Break coming back, and will season 3 be the last season? Insider: Season three should begin airing in late August. As for whether or not this will be our last, we certainly hope not, Leslie! Although only time will tell, and definitive answers about the future of the show won't emerge until the end of season three. “The real kernel of the idea came from a woman I was working with at the time, who had an idea about a guy committing a crime and being put into prison to start a prison break—that was pretty much all she provided. I thought it was an intriguing idea, but very stupid for a human being to do. No one wants to go to prison unless they have to. So, there were two mandates in order for me to go forward with the story. The first was there had to be [a situation that presented] no other recourse, something with such colossally high stakes, so that’s where the idea of the condemned brother who was wrongly convicted came in. You couldn’t use the system because the system was already against him. And then, the second piece was that the protagonist had to be absolutely certain that he could pull this off.” –Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring discusses the origin of Prison Break during an April 2006 interview with Mansha Daswani for WorldScreen.com.
