She plays the roles that she plays because she is an actress and that's what acting is about -- being somebody you're not. John Travolta is playing a woman in Hairspray, so does that mean he's not proud of being a man? Two Wayans played WHITE GIRLS -- does that mean they are denouncing male African Americans? Alyson Hannigan played a fat chick -- does that mean she hates the fact that she's skinny? What about all the gay men in Hollywood who portray straight roles? Acting is just entertainment for we the people who have no right to look into an actor's life and judge them on the way they live. The paparazzi and tabloids have given us too much insight on the way celebrities live their lives.
Michelle Branch is also a hypocrite if you want to talk technicalities here. She's said many times that her label used to make her sing the music she sang because they knew it would sell records. She's a sell out and yet you laudibly applaud her morals.
