Sounds like your friend has the inside skinny. Long ago, I read copy attached to an early KK photoshoot (Fashion 18, I think) that described K as having grown up in Shaughnessy, a way upscale hood split in the middle by Granville and bordered on the east side by Oak St. At the time, I thought this made sense since the Hamber high school is just 8 blocks south at the corner of Oak and 33rd. I mentioned this in a post at the time and flutterby, a VanCityite, came back with she'd heard K grew up in Mount Pleasant, just to the northwest, another nice neighborhood of larger than average homes on finely manicured streets.

Ya know I'm thinkin its her folks home and she's just over there alot. Course I could be wrong but it just seems unlikely she would want such a big house so early on. But what a great location so close to all the cool stuff. Cambie is the western border of Mt. Pleasant, then you cross north over the Cambie St. Bridge and you're right in yaletown. Or go west 10 blocks and you're at Granville island. Or go south 8 blks on Cambie from Broadway and you're at Tomato. Sounds like you had a lot of fun with all the concerts, prolly drinkin that Kokanee beer.
