Eliza Dushku plays deadly game of MAMBA
Variety reports that Eliza Dushku (pictured) of BUFFY and WRONG TURN and Mike (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE) Vogel will star in MAMBA, an English-language horror film being produced by the Spanish Manufacturas Audiovisuales and Abra Productions companies. First-time director Alvaro de Arminan (an AD on films including LIVE FLESH and INTACTO) will direct from a script by Roderick and Bruce Taylor (who penned Neil Jordan’s upcoming revenge thriller THE BRAVE ONE and the cable sci-fi thriller HELL SWARM) and co-producer Antonio Cuadri, with filming of the $6.4-million project beginning next Monday in Spain’s Basque Country. The story concerns the titular supernatural board game, which is found by a group of young surfers; once they start playing, anyone who loses suffers a terrible death. The cast also includes Germany actress Naike Rivelli and Spanish thesps Gary (WEREWOLF HUNTER) Piquer, Alex O’Dogherty and Martxelo Rubio, with FX created by the busy boys at DDT (PAN’S LABYRINTH).
