this is what Dave McLaughlin said about Eliza:

On Eliza Dushku
"Eliza had such a strong sense of who her character was just off the page before she and I even spoke. She showed up in Boston with pieces of her own wardrobe that she thought fit this character wreally well. Our wardrove designer and Eliza sat down together and created a very fun, kooky, expressive, sexy wardrobe that really informed the character she was trying to create. The director has to direct and be the final arbiter of all the decisions, but at the same time, you're an idiot if you don't think of the people you're working with as important collaborators."

Nice to hear she is so involved with her characters. I remember her talking about how she got prepared to playing Gina in City by the Sea. she said that she looked up information about heroine and watched documentaries to get in to the role.
It's very interesting to hear about how she actually does her work.
