Mag offers Improper kudos to ‘Broadway’ homeys

“On Broadway” stars Joey McIntyre, Eliza Dushku, Mike O’Malley and Amy Poehler are the cover kids for The Improper Bostonian’s annual “Boston’s Best” issue.
The Mass. homeys tell the Improper that the good thing about casting locals for a set-in-Somerville flick is that they are guaranteed to get the accent right!
“(You) open your mouth and never close it,” said “Saturday Night Live” funnygal - and Burlington homey - Poehler.
Amy tells the maggie that she and her hubby, “Arrested Development” bro Will Arnett, signed on to do the low-budget flick because Poehler was a BC classmate of writer-director Dave McLaughlin’s.
O’Malley and Dushku said they wanted to do the flick because it gave them a chance to come home - Eliza even slept in her childhood bed in Watertown during the filming.
“Career-wise, it’s nice to have a role like this and be ready for it,” said leading man Joey Mac. “And to be back in Boston and in your own hometown, it’s so much better that it happened this way.”
The “Best” issue hits newsstands today.
