Here's a picture I drew of Spawn. I always liked the way he looked, so I decided to give him a try. I was going to just practice drawing his head, but I got into it more and did a bit more. I still can't draw bodies too well without having to copy, so I just draped him in his cape. That's one of the nice things about him. More than any other caped character, you can get away with covering at least half of him with the cape all the time and it'll look dead cool. You can't even do that with Batman, because it's not as overly stylized like Spawn's is. But anyway, this ended up turning into practice drawing a cape. I've done Batman capes before, but they're kind of bland because they just drape over his shoulders and fall to the ground. Spawn's cape has all the layers and folds and the little shoulder spikes and the giant collar. It's just fun to go crazy with it. Oddly enough, this started out as a head drawing, but the head is the part I like least. I think I just made it too narrow. He looks like a mix between Deadpool and Spider-Man. But hey, I finally drew something decent without resorting to copying, so I'm happy. Next time I'll try to reveal a bit more and work on the body.
