Thanks for the help and link.
I understand some people don't like war and that's okay but, maybe I'm too conservative, I just can't understand blaming ourselves when we actively do something to help a country being terrorized by it's own leader, who also has ignored the UN's call to disarm.
I've got 1 brother currently in the military, and 2 others who were in previously. 2 of the 3 went to Iraq the first time while 1 is going to Afghanistan this year. When they both left the first time, the thought never entered my mind to be angry at the President for it, I was angry at Saddam and I was ~12 years old then. As far as I'm concerned anyone in uniform for our country is a hero for making the sacrifices they have to be in the military and helping to preserve the freedoms we enjoy. I can't fathom demeaning those efforts by acting like they're failing over there or it's wrong and doing anything but supporting them until it's over. But that's just me I guess. Okay, I can come down off the soap box.
I guess I'm resisting the belief that most Hollywood people are liberal, anti-war activists by default, knowing it would eliminate any hope I'd ever have of getting along w/some like Alba. |
