I recently recieved my DVD of "On Broadway" from Amazon, it is Region 1 (US) and I don't know if it's available in the UK, but I have to tell you it was one of the most charming performances I've ever seen Eliza do.

She was lively, vivacious and funny. She plays Lena, a young actress from Maine who interacts with the family of a young Irishman from Boston who lost his uncle in a roofing accident. The uncle was well loved by the family, and the young man, with his wife, brothers and assorted relatives write and produce a play about the Irish wake. You only see the story leading up to the play, and how much it took to put this play on in a Boston pub. Eliza's character is free spirited and sexy, and it will surprise you who she finally falls for and how the character wins her heart. It will make you laugh and you will also shed a tear or two.

Highly recommended. It's such a shame that such a fine film never got the recognition it deserves; it should have been released nationally. There's Oscar-quality performances throughout the film.
