If you think that she's acting to sell sex, then you aren't thinking very much beyond what you see on the surface. Were you even a fan of her work before or are you judging by what you see this past year ? We know about her love for acting and how she thinks of it as an art. Doing the latest few roles is what she wants to do. Is it the only thing she can get ? Fantastic Four says no. Sonic says no. She exploits her sexuality because it is an element of what the situation calls for right now. It is also what everyone wants in terms of marketing. She's a self-admitted sexual person by nature so it's not a hard sell.
I feel as if you're calling her a "sell out" because she's not the innocent Jessica we want her to be, or was once depicted to be. We all want her to be special. But the roles she's taken and what she's become doesn't make her a sell out. She has real projects coming up... Sonic is a producer/actor role which should not perpetuate this "sex sells" mentality that you believe has come upon her. Sell-outs don't come back, do they ? That term sickens me - it's used way too frequently and loosely...
There's people who are just fans of "underground" people or groups... but once they get big, they are deemed "sell-outs" and become the un-enviable talk of Internet geeks everywhere. I hope this isn't one of those situations.
