Had this one a couple weeks ago, but I was saving it for this month, as I feared November would be a much tighter month for post-count. It's starting to look like the post-count crud is going away, so maybe this forum is safe (for now).
This one only lasted a few minutes, and was about average wrt internal consistency and accuracy when compared to the real-world locations it took place in.
The first thing I remember was that me, Lacey, and some other girl - most likely this was my older sister, but can't be sure, as I never saw her face - were rollerskating around the little town I grew up in. I hardly ever rollerskated when I was little, though my sister did it a lot. We were all dressed in protective gear, which I've never worn, but was probably inspired by that clip of her and TJ all decked out and running around.
I perceived Lacey as if she was either a big sister, or my sister's friend whom I had no interest in. My sister used to take me and my brother to hang out with her friends, so I was probably seeing myself as about 8-10, and Lacey and my sister therefore as about 12-14. I distinctly remember Lacey hadn't matured, but I don't remember if the other girl had or not; probably not.
Lacey and my sister were skating with each other, and I was just tagging along, as usually happened when my sister dragged me along with her friends. At first, we were just having fun, but then they reached a hill. They easily ascended it, but because I was so much smaller than they were, it took me a few seconds to get over it.
There's a 4-lane highway that runs through our town and it's pretty much never busy. There are roads that go up to it, but don't intersect it, and we were on one such road. I got over that first hill, and they were farther ahead. I struggled to catch up, but they weren't interested in letting me.
Then they came up to another hill that was the embankment to the highway. Most highways have embankments I've had to ascend, some rather tall and steep. The actual real-world location possesses no such embankment, but it was here in the dream.
Again, they were able to climb it fairly easily, and again, I was not. This embankment wound up being maybe 6-8 feet tall, and fairly steep, and with the snow on the ground, it was almost impossible to get up it. Normally, I might not have been able to dream a successful assent, but this time I managed to make it, and instead of the 4-lane highway, it was more like a 10-12 lane highway, very busy, the likes of which you might find n Chicago or LA. I'm pretty sure I perceived it as being both of those places AND my hometown all at the same time.
I remember seeing that the two of them had already crossed and were at the monorail-station on the other side. (Chicago has a mass-transit system running down the middle of many of its interstates, and this was kind of a futuristic-looking one that resembles the monorail stations at Disney World.)
I called out for them to wait up, while I waited for an opening in the traffic so I could skate across. I wasn't afraid, I just knew I couldn't cross until there was an opening.
The last thing I remember is starting to skate across, and then I woke up, rolled over, and went back to sleep. |
