I've always liked long hair on girls. I know it's a PITA to get it looking nice, and keep it that way, and it gets in the way a lot, and if she's not careful she can get it caught in things, and I have to imagine most women would like to rip it out sometimes, but I gotta tell ya, ladies: long hair is more beautiful.
That's not to say Lacey didn't look good with it short; I'd like her even if she shaved it off. I can say the same for any woman I care about for reasons other than their looks. I haven't convinced my sister to do it yet, but I know she wants to - she expresses her jealousy for my no-comb all the time.
Long hair is also fun. Maybe I shouldn't admit this, but I enjoyed brushing and running my fingers through my girls' long hair, and sometimes I have an urge to braid it. It's also a treat to brush it aside and reveal those purty little ears.
OTOH, I dislike long bangs. I don't like obscured faces that much. It works in some instances, of course, but overall, I feel a face is something that shouldn't be hidden. Lacey has/had a wave in front of her hair that is/was always drooping down into her face, and forcing her to either pull it back out of the way or develop a special head-shake and hope that got it.
