| I've had dreams similar to both of those about a previous girlfriend, but not recently. Now that it's the next month (I was going to start this very topic when the counter ticked by, since the world didn't end today) I can post this.
Lacey dream #1: a really lame one if it had been anyone else, but it's the first one I had with her, so that makes it worth something. I had this about a month ago.
For a period of just a few seconds, I sensed she was watching over me while I slept, as if she were a ghost. It MIGHT have been triggered thanks to a thread elsewhere on this board about ghosts.
Lame, yeah, I told you. The next one is better, I promise.
Lacey dream #2: I had this one about 2 weeks ago now.
Probably 99% of my dreams have me IN them, participating in some way, usually as myself or as my dream-self alter-ego who has a variety of super powers that he can only use when he is NOT aware that they are impossible. Things like walking through walls, teleporting, flying, breathing underwater, and some sort of telekinesis I can't explain without the use of the words "imaginary self". That's right, a dream-self with its own imaginary self. I'm complicated. :D
But this was one of those 1% times, where I wasn't in the dream myself, I was just watching, as if engrossed with watching a TV. An appropriate comparison, because the dream was not unlike watching a TV series recap episode, one of those where they spend an entire episode going over the high points of the story up 'til now. The one they did for Lost would be a good example, but without the funny explanation texts.
So picture the Family Feud game show, except this is a special week. I don't know if FF does this, as I haven't watched more than 3 episodes in the past 20-some years, but I watch Jeopardy now and then, and they DO do things like this.
What's special about this special week is that the contestants aren't families, they're kids who are disadvantaged in some way (AIDS? Special? I couldn't tell), teamed up with a celebrity to be the team leader. The team of interest to me, and of the TV program, was Lacey's team. The whole dream was like highlights of her team as it progressed through this charity event over the course of about 2 weeks, defeating every other team.
Lacey and her teammates were frequently seen whooping it up, jumping up and down over winning a given round, or seen answering near-impossible questions. I can't remember any of the questions now, but I remember that one of them was really tough, and in a VERY brief appearance of self, I reflected that I had no idea what the right answer would be, and Lacey hazarded a guess that she obviously thought was wrong, but wasn't, and all four kids on her team mobbed her for a group-hug-jumping-about in celebration of her genius.
Lacey's team won the entire special series, and was so good and so popular with the audience that they returned to take on FF's biggest winners, and defeated them. This was like Ken Jennings taking on all the previous Jeopardy champs, except Lacey's team won.
I never got a focus on who led any of the other teams, just that the first one was led by another female celebrity. I think Drew Carey was the host, but he hardly made an appearance, so I can't be sure it was him and not some unidentifiable person. It was definitely NOT Dawson or Karn. Also, the graphic style was not of the type used during Dawson's reign, or at least not from 20 years ago, and the podiums for each team had the team leader in the middle, rather than at the head, so that she could confer with all teammates more rapidly and be the person who did most of the speaking for that team. It also made group-hugs much easier.
I never got to make an appearance in this, nor was I watching it on a TV; it was just as if I was seeing it through a TV, rather than being in the studio.
