It did take some thought to find words that were close enough to being right for me to use them. I had a couple hours to think it over. The irony is that as I wrote the form, I came up with all kinds of good words to use, but when it came time to fill it out, the good ones were all gone from my head, so I had to settle for what you see.
Reading it again now, a couple weeks later, it doesn't look as bad as I thought it did when I wrote it. At the same time it also looks awful.
Best blank filled in: "Hotter than you look"
Worst blank filled in: "Awesomest"
Hardest blank to fill: the simile for what her genuine smiles were like. I started trying for a warm blanket on a cold day, but she probably doesn't know what real cold is, whereas I have (not so) fond memories of digging our car out of a snow bank in the early morning, during the afterpart of a snowstorm, so my mom could take us to school and go to work, and then going inside and sitting on the radiator trying to warm my feet back up. No way I could convey all that in 10 words, especially with her having no frame of reference. Luckily, I've also lived in Mississippi, so I could flip it. |
